Program Overview:
This program is designed to enhance the professional development of untrained in-service teachers in Nairobi's informal settlements.
The main objective is to build their pedagogical skills and capacity through peer-to-peer training and mentorship, ensuring they possess the necessary expertise for quality teaching and learning outcomes.
To incentivize participation and completion, teachers were provided with food vouchers upon finishing each level of the training course.
The training sessions were conducted by volunteer lecturers from the University of Nairobi, ensuring high-quality instruction.
By the end of phase one, a total of 215 in-service and untrained teachers from areas including Huruma, Kasarani-Mwiki, Mathare, Kariobangi South, and Dandora were successfully trained, contributing to the improvement of education standards in Nairobi's informal settlements.
